What happened

A site agent for a construction sub-contractor offered bribes totalling $67,000 to two government officers, an Inspector of Works and a Works Supervisor at the Territory Development Department, in 1994. The Inspector got monthly payments of $10,000 from February to July 1994. The Works Supervisor got $7,000 in cash in September 1994. The payer absconded for over 25 years after being charged in late 1994. He admitted the offences at the District Court and on 22 March 2021 was sentenced to three years' imprisonment.
